The phenomenon of corruption is a direct threat to democracy and national security. In the meeting of the Anticorruption Platform, held at the Ministry of Justice, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the institutions responsible for fighting corruption must act as efficiently as possible, for the benefit of all the citizens, IPN reports.
The head of government noted that on the Republic of Moldova’s path of European integration, corruption fighting and ensuring of the independence and integrity of the justice sector are a priority. “Corruption is a direct threat to our democracy and national security. We also see this through the work of corrupt groups that are trying to stop our efforts to reform the justice sector and hold accountable those who robbed the country. Our task is to combine our forces so that the law applies to all people equally,” said Dorin Recean, being quoted in a press release.
The Anticorruption Platform is an advisory body centering on anticorruption and corruption-related matters created under the Ministry of Justice.
