Iurie Leanca does not have chances to be reelected Prime Minister, while the results of his discussion with the Liberals are confused and uncertain, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Corneliu Ciurea said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN.
According to Ciurea, the PLDM signed an agreement on the formation of a government coalition with the PDM and will not renounce it. “Ghimpu imposed some conditions and I don’t think that Iurie Leanca will be able to convince his party mates to make concessions,” stated the expert.
Corneliu Ciurea also considers that Iurie Leanca finds it difficult and even embarrassing to hold talks with the leader of the PL. “Mihai Ghimpu is an established politician with experience, while Iurie Leanca is a developing politician who knows to give evasive answers and not to say things as they area. He became Prime Minister owing to the political conjuncture,” he said.
The expert also said that the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat does not want Leanca to be reelected Premier. “For the PLDM, Iurie Leanca is a sacrifice piece. I think it is already known who will be Prime Minister and this candidate will be voted in with the help of the Communist MPs in the second round. The PLDM fielded Iurie Leanca in a move to justify itself before the voters,” he stated.
In the evening of February 4, Iurie Leanca met with Mihai Ghimpu in order to ask for his support for investing the Government. After the meeting, Leanca expressed his satisfaction with the results of the discussion, while Ghimpu said he wants the negotiations with the PLDM and PDM to be resumed.
