The government’s disregard for the people’s demands was one of the reasons that made the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” enter politics, Platform member Cornelia Cozonac said in special edition of the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
“The Platform addressed a number of messages and requests to the government, but these were ignored. There were put forward a number of demands, but those who are in power didn’t react. It does not seem normal for me for the people’s opinion to be neglected in a democratic country. Creating a political alternative is thus normal,” stated Cornelia Cozonac.
She noted that the Platform “Dignity and Truth” wants the future party to enjoy the broad support of all the people. “The Platform already made an appeal to the people who want to become involved in the new government to submit CVs. We hope known people with a good reputation will join this party. We want to build a party that will work for the people’s benefit and will be funded with people’s donations,” said the Platform member.
In the same program, Anatol Taranu, director of the Political Research and Consultancy Center “Politicon”, said that a political alternative is welcome. “The demands of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” are supported by the people. These represent the state of spirit of the people of Moldova,” he stated.
