Two men that were arrested in Corjova village by the Transnistrian militia on Saturday morning have been released several hours after the arrest, announced Speaker Marian Lupu at the Parliament's sitting later that day, citing information from the Moldovan intelligence service, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ion Dubina and Ion Pascaru, 27, spent more than two hours in the local militia station after being arrested for no apparent reason by the Transnistrian militia as they were working on the installment of playground equipment in the courtyard of the village church. Chisinau Mayor Valeriu Mitsul told Info-Prim Neo that he reacted immediately and contacted the local police chief with whom they tried to get in touch with the Joint Control Commission. Earlier this month, Mayor Valeriu Mitsul and a local councilman Iurie Cotsofan were arrested by the Transnistrian Militia during an event commemorating those who died in the 1992 Nistru war. Several days later they were released with the joint effort of the Moldovan government, civil society and international actors.
