The National Museum of Archeology and History of Moldova enriched its collection of historical documents. On October 12, a group of young people donated the copy of the historical document in which the name of Chisinau city is mentioned for the fist time to the museum. The document dates from 1436 and its copy was sent to Chisinau from the Warsaw Central Archives of Historical Documents, IPN reports.
The young people who donated the copy said the idea of obtaining the historical monument appeared two years ago, on the City’s Day, when they visited the National Museum of Archeology and History, as in other settlements the people are able to see such documents on display. They spoke to museographers and historians, who told them that the document attesting the foundation of Chisinau is in Poland, but its copy costs a lot.
One of the young people said that the frame in which the copy of the document was put and the transfer cost dearer in fact. But he didn’t want to give figures.
The head of the Museum’s Archeology Section Ion Tentiuc said the young people’s gesture is very nice. “The city’s past is our past and I’m glad that there are people who want to keep this history,” he stated.
The copy of the historical document was included in the exhibition staged on the occasion of Chisinau’s Day.
