A patrolling inspector caught a young man while he allegedly tried to steal a bag of money from a grocery store on January 1.
The officer, who was off duty, was shopping in the store when he sighted what appeared to be an attempt by the man to steal a bag with money, profiting that the cashier was not looking.
The suspect is 26 years old and is from Chisinau. He now faces a fine of 2,000 lei, ten times the content of the bag.
