The cooperation between Horus and Termoelectrica over past few years brought multiple, mutually advantageous benefits to the inhabitants of Chisinau, who enjoy thermal comfort. Since 2018, Horus has taken an active part in the preparation of the energy sources not only at Termoelectrica, but also in northern Moldova, including at sugar factories.

In a news conference hosted by IPN, Mihail Pasechnik, technical director of Horus Energy, said that two energy blocks, No. 1 and No. 3, are being used at Termoelectrica. They work at nominal capacity to compensate the work of block No. 2. Horus took part in the implementation of innovation and modern technologies. All the pieces of equipment put into service by Horus produce good results.

As a result of the implementation of modern technologies, the administration of Termoelectrica made a request to reduce the heat charge by 15% and the electricity charge by 10%. The retechnologized block No. 1 also contributed to this as it saved 11% of the consumed natural gas. This block that was retechnologized by Horus brought savings of 240 million lei to Termoelectrica, stated Mihail Pasechnik.

Mihai Godea, director for development of the Horus group of companies, said that as energy block No. 2, which was to be in reserve, could not be connected due to the incident that happened earlier this week, the boilers were turned on and gas was used to heat the boilers and electrical energy wasn’t generated. Respectively, Termoelectrica gained less as it produced only heat and didn’t generate electricity, through cogeneration, for example.

Mihai Godea also said that the contact with Horus for the retechnologization of block No. 2 was abusively terminated last year. If this contract hadn’t been terminated, block No. 2 would have been retechnologized and the citizens would have had lower charges, while Termoelectrica would have gained more money. Even so, Horus is ready to become involved with all its capacity to identify solutions and create new capacities to generate heat and electrical energy based on European, Western technologies, but time and investments are needed for the purpose.
