Convicts will have special menu on Easter

The detainees in penitentiaries will have a special menu on Easter and a day full of cultural activities. They will be served eggs, Easter bread and pound cakes brought by their relatives, the head of the Public Relations Division of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions Ana Druta has told Info-Prim Neo. Services will be held in the churches located on the territory of penitentiaries in the morning of Easter. During Lent, the detainees could take part in religious ceremonies, confess their sins and take communion. On the occasion of Eastertime, the convicts will have a special menu enriched with meat according to the food norm for holidays, said Ana Druta. A series of kiosks will be set up on the territory of penitentiaries, where the prisoners will be able to buy different products. There are over 6,000 detainees in Moldova’s prisons.
