Some analysts consider that we will have a very heated election campaign, while others believe it will be a feeble one without surprises. Such opinions were stated in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.
Political analyst Vitalie Andrievshi said the current election campaign will be different from the previous ones. “This campaign includes a lot of new people. There are only Mihai Ghimpu and Vladimir Voronin of the old ones, who have taken part in elections since the declaration of independence. Another particularity is the use of money from abroad and the investing in a particular person, as for example Renato Usatyi. It is a person without ideas and without team, but with a lot of money. There are also two powerful geopolitical projects: the European integration and the Customs Union. Therefore, I think the coming elections will be different from what we saw until now,” he stated.
On the other hand, the head of the ITAR-TASS Office in Moldova Valeri Demidetski considers that we will not have great surprises. “I have the impression that we are not in an election campaign. They do everything in a hurry. It seems that the main players of this campaign already know the election outcome. Some will be on the right, while others will be on the left. A coalition will be formed and the voters will have no surprises,” he said.
Political analyst Nicolae Chirtoaca, who heads the People’s Power Party, believes that the current election campaign will be marked by false and populist statements. “The goals pursued by those involved in this campaign are different from their statements, populism being their main instrument. I think the major battle in these elections will be between the oligarchic parties. Enormous pressure is exerted on some of the politicians who will take part in the election campaign. We have oligarchic parties that fight a harsh battle. All the administrative resources were taken under control. For the first time, money from abroad is massively invested in this campaign, like in the case of Igor Dodon and Renato Usatyi,” he stated.
Journalist Dmitri Chiubashenko expressed his concern about the correctness of the election campaign. “I expect no wonders in the coming elections. I personally have four objectives and I will vote for the party whose electoral platform will include these objectives. I think Moldova must take a pause of several years to deal with it internal problems and then to decide what course to follow,” he said.
