Some opinion leaders believe that the Party of Communists (PCRM) should be invited to take part in governance by the future pro-European coalition, while others consider this party should be offered only instruments for controlling the government as the representative of the opposition. Such opinions were stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Constitutional law expert Nicolae Osmochescu considers the PCRM should be involved in governance. “The PCRM should be invited to take part in governance. Particular objectives must be found, such as the country’s modernization. This way, the three parties of the future coalition will secure votes for cases when a simple parliamentary majority won’t be enough, such as the election of the head of state or the amendment of articles of the fundamental law,” he stated.
On the other hand, political analyst Roman Mihaes thinks the PCRM cannot be involved in the government of the pro-European coalition. “The Party of Communists does not have a place in a pro-European coalition. However, as the opposition, they should be offered instruments for controlling the government, like, for instance, through the Audit Office or the National Integrity Commission. I think the newly formed Parliament should adopt a law on the parliamentary opposition,” he said.
Doctor of Politology Aurelia Peru considers the parties of the pro-European coalition must invite the Communists to participate in governance. “In the European states, the government involves parties of the left. We should not forget that the PCRM also won a significant number of voters,” she stated.
The program’s permanent invitee, Romanian media analyst Cristian Tabara said the pro-European Socialist left in Moldova became Communist left, while the Socialists became aggressive Communists.
