Contest for positions of head of Teleradio-Moldova and directors of national radio and TV stations has been announced

The Supervisory Board (SB) of Teleradio-Moldova Company announced on Wednesday, February 21, the contest for selecting the head of the Company and directors of national Radio and TV Broadcasters. The contest will begin on February 23, when the announcement will be published in the “Official Monitor” newspaper. The deadline set for submitting applications is March 23. The SB members will come together on March 28, when they will appoint the head and the two directors of TV “Moldova 1” channel and “Radio Moldova” station. In compliance with the Broadcasting Code’s provisions, the three employees must meet a number of requirements: to be professional in the field and prove managerial abilities; higher education; to be citizens of Moldova; to know the official language etc. The respective functions are incompatible with the position of member of Government, MP, member of ACC; political party membership; member of a leading body or employee, partner, owner/shareholder of a private radiobroadcaster. SB confirms the candidates with the vote of at least 2/3 of the members. The Company’s head and the two directors are appointed to the position for a 5-year period.
