Contest announced for symbols associated with Moldovan geographical indications

Artists, designers and art students as well as ordinary citizens are invited to participate in a contest for the best symbols associated with Moldovan geographical indications. The contest will be held from November 1 to December 2, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Economy Minister Octavian Calmic, the chairman of the contest commission, told a news conference that the best submissions will be sent to the Government for consideration. In assessing the entries, the commission will look at their originality, the comprehensibility of the image when taken without written material, global orientation, clarity of the presentation, and other criteria. The winners will be awarded a 1st degree prize of 5,000, a 2nd degree prize of 3,000 lei and a 3rd degree prize of 2,000 lei. Any person aged 18 years or older or company from Moldova may participate. There are no selection criteria as to professional skills. Submissions should be sent on hard copy and digitalized version to the address of the Intellectual Property Agency: MD-2024, Chisinau, 24/1 Andrei Doga Street, e-mail: office@agepi.md.
