Consumers more disciplined in paying heat bills

The number of household consumers who pay the heat bills on time has almost doubled compared with last year, the director of the Chisinau heat supplier SA Termocom Mihai Cernei said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to Mihai Cernei, 65% of the domestic consumers in Chisinau have paid the heat bills for October so far, as against 35% in the corresponding period last year. Mihai Cernei also said that SA Termocom managed to pay a significant part of the debts to its suppliers. The debt to SA Moldovagaz was cleared. The debts to the thermoelectric plant CET 1 total 6.2 million lei, while to CET 2 – 5.4 million lei. The payments will be made in accordance with the memorandum signed by the Chisinau City Hall, the Ministry of Economy and energy companies, under which none of the parties involved in the production and supply of heat in Chisinau can block the accounts of another party. As regards the price of the heat supplied by SA Termocom, Mihai Cernei said it could be decreased only if the price of gas is reduced or if an agreement is reached with the suppliers that form part of the system.
