Consumer's failure to pay overdue bills imperil preparations for heating season in Chisinau

The failure of residential consumers to pay overdue bills for heating imperil preparations for 2011/2012 heating season in Chisinau, warns the utility Termocom in a press release, urging customers with problems to settle their debts as soon as possible. Over this week problematic customers have been invited to district offices in a bid to convince them to conclude debt rescheduling agreements. Currently over 54,000 apartments in Chisinau have debts for heating. More than 25,000 apartments owe amounts ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 lei; 12,000 apartments owe from 3,000 to 5,000 lei; 6,000 apartments owe from 5,000 to 7,000 lei; and over 11,000 apartments owe 7,000 lei or more. 79.7% apartments in Chisinau pay their heating and hot water bills on time.
