Consumer Protection Strategy to be developed by year's end

The Ministry of Economy (ME) intends to finalize the 2013-2020 Consumer Protection Strategy by the end of the year. The Strategy aims to consolidate decision-making and consumer protection capacities, the ME said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Deputy Economy Minister Octavian Calmic told a meeting of the Consumer Protection Supervisory Council that the Strategy will promote and ensure the safety of products and services, and will ensure the infrastructure for the distribution of vital goods and services. Octavian Calmic said increased attention should be given in the Strategy to awareness-raising campaigns as well as to efforts aimed at increasing the level of trust in the consumer protection system.
