Consumer prices rose 0.6% in September

The rate of inflation in September was 0.6%. Prices of food products went up by 1.3%, of non-food products by 0.1%, while of services provided for the population by 0.7%, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the rise in the prices of food products in September stemmed from the increase in the average prices of agricultural products, compared with August. Eggplants got dearer by 35.0%, sweet peppers by 34.3%, cucumbers and watermelons by 8.7% each, dietetic eggs by 7.3%, pork and beef by 3.5% each. Among non-food products, children’s clothes grew dearer by 2.0%, teaching aids for school by 1.5%, children’s footwear by 1.2%, furniture by 0.9%. As to services, dormitory fees and apartment rent went up by 5.5%, tuition fees by 2.4 %, dwelling repair works by 2.1%, services in public eateries by 1.6%. The January-September inflation was 6.7%. During the last 12 months, the average consumer prices rose by 10.7%.
