The annual inflation rate last December was 7.5% for the past 12 months (January - December 2019). The consumer price index was 100.9% on November 2019, IPN reports.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the nearly 1% rise in the average consumer prices was due to the 1.6% increase in food prices, 0.6% increase in nonfood prices and 0.1% rise in the prices of services provided for the population.

The prices of hen eggs, fresh vegetables and fruit, milk and dairy products, sausages, beef and wheat bread increased in December. The prices of most of the nonfoods remained at the level of the previous month. But the cars, travel items, liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders and tableware rose in price.

As to the services provided for the population, the prices of cable TV, railway passenger transportation, catering, vehicle service and repair and dental services went up last December.
