The Consultative Council for promoting social assistance policies started work under the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, IPN reports.
The Council has 21 members who represent the academic and political communities and civil society. Minister Valentina Buliga, who heads the Council, proposed that the post of deputy head should be occupied by the future secretary of state of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family.
In order to ensure transparency in the Council’s work, a special dedicated division will be created on the Ministry’s website. The Council will meet quarterly.
The creation of the Consultative Council forms part of the measures taken to improve the provision of social benefits. The initiative to set it up was put forward by the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family at the start of this year. Valentina Buliga said the Council’s goal is to strengthen the partnership in promoting social assistance policies and to ensure decisional transparency.
