The Liberal Party (PL) issued a press statement, saying it approves of the consultations with the people and considers them necessary and important in decision making. However, the party stresses that these consultations cannot replace the deliberations and adoption of political decisions within the Alliance for European Integration and the Council of the AEI, which, according to the Liberals, is an obligatory condition for the efficient functioning of the Government in general and every state institution in particular, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The main expression for the Moldovan people is cooperation inside the ruling alliance as they realize that where there is cooperation and understanding, there are results,” it is said in the statement.
The party says an agenda beneficial to Moldova – the agenda of political stability, reforms and acceleration of the European integration process – should be agreed by the components of the AEI in the meetings of the Alliance’s Council. “Only a constructive political agenda of the AEI can ensure the cohesion of the ruling parties and the whole society around the main objectives in the post-electoral period, to the detriment of the approaches that disseminate confusion and imbalance, a permanent state of uncertainty and unpredictability as regards the internal political situation,” reads the statement.
The PL reasserts its position that local alliances of the parties of the AEI should be formed after the local elections, rejecting any cooperation with the opposition party – the PCRM.
The statement also says that the political stability is an essential condition for any reform. That’s why the election of the President of Moldova will represent the top objective of the AEI the next months.
“Only a profound reform in all the areas, in accordance with the European standards, first of all in the decentralization of power, demonopolization of economy, and the law enforcement bodies, will lead to economic growth, reduced corruption in the state bodies and higher living standards. Only such a policy can endure the AEI’s credibility before the foreign partners and the Moldovan people who gave us their votes since the April 5, 2009 parliamentary elections until the June 5, 2011 local elections,” says the statement.
On July 4, Prime Minister Vlad Filat opened extensive consultations with society, which focus on the context in which the Government of Moldova works, the way the reforms are implemented, the progress made on the path to European integration, the fight against corruption, the sociopolitical situation in Moldova and other topics of interest to the dialogue partners. The conclusions of the consultations will be presented in a public address to the people on July 8.
