Consultations with Bulgaria on easier visa requirements for Moldovans will start early next year

The Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau has confirmed the initiative made public by Bulgaria’s Foreign Deputy Minister Milen Keremedchiev during his visit to Moldova to start bilateral consultations on easier visa requirements for Moldovan citizens. The Embassy informed in a press release that during the meeting between the Bulgarian Foreign Deputy Minister and his Moldovan counterpart, Valeriu Ostalep, the Moldovan party requested free travel and transit Bulgarian visits for Moldova citizens. In reply, Milen Keremedchiev launched the initiative to start bilateral consultations for this purpose in January 2008 in Sofia. The proposal was accepted. On this occasion, the Bulgarian party has expressed its desire to develop interstate relations in the area of tourism, Bulgaria being one of the favourite destinations for Moldovan travellers. The Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Milen Keremedchiev, is on a working visit to Moldova. His visit is part of an inspection tour of Bulgarian diplomatic missions in Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey.
