The consultations between the Democratic Party and the Party of Communists were constructive. The representatives of the two parties conferred on the current political situation and the events that are to take place – the investiture of a new Cabinet and the election of the head of state. Such statements were made after the consultations held in the evening of November 3, IPN reports.
Communist MP Artur Reshetnicov said that at this stage they exchanged opinions only, but they expect that MPs from other parties will join the dialogue so that they agree the composition of the future Cabinet and vote it in. This executive will afterward deal with the existing social and economic problems. The participants in the dialogue should ignore the political color, ideologies and political disagreements.
Democratic MP Andrian Candu said the consultations, which he considers were constructive, centered on the political situation and on subjects from the future political agenda. The PDM wants to see if the Communist MPs are ready to contribute to ensuring political stability. The largest parliamentary coalition in Moldova’s history could be formed after the consultations and as a result of negotiations, but things would be difficult at practical level as a government plan needs to be worked out and implemented. A coalition with the PCRM could be formed, if this ensured political stability, on condition that Moldova’s European course is maintained.
The Cabinet headed by Lib-Dem Valeriu Strelet was dismissed by a majority of votes of MP on October 29. The no-confidence motion submitted by the Socialist and Communist MPs together was also supported by the Democratic lawmakers, 65 MPs overall. The faction of the PLDM considers that by such a vote the agreement to form the Alliance for European Integration 3 was denounced.
