Romania’s consular office in Ungheni will officially start work after the trial period is over. An exact date will be announced later, Consul Petru Litiu has told Info-Prim Neo. The consular office in Ungheni is an arm of the Romanian Consulate in Balti. The trial was initiated with the aim of testing the technical capacity of the office and the personnel’s working capacity. “For the time being we accept only applications for issuing small-scale traffic permits. The applicants must go to the General Consulate in Balti if they want to be issued with visas or be provided with other consular services,” said Petru Litiu. The documents can be submitted from Monday through Friday between 8am and 2pm. The office provides services only to persons with residence in northern Moldova. Romania’s Consulates in Balti and Cahul were opened last July. Moldova’s Consulate in Iasi was inaugurated in October 8 last year.
