The item regarding the approval of the detailed Urban Plan for the perimeter of Ciuflea-Bucuresti-Ismail- Stefan cel Mare streets have stirred up disputes among the municipal councillors, during the Council’s sitting on Wednesday, April 11. The largest number of claims were made by the communist councillors. The detailed project was worked out by two economic entities – construction firms, using their own resources. Following the approval of this plan, drawn up according to the General Urban Plan (GUP), interested economic entities, including those that participated in working out the detailed plan, can purchase in the perimeter of these streets buildings intended for demolition and can build a modern district. Communist councillor Grigore Mara requested to re-examine the item, invoking legal issues. A number of councillors were deeply concerned about the fact that the approval of this plan would mean that the project authors will be granted land in the first place. Municipal councillor Pavel Caba, who is the director of the construction firm “Moldconinvest” – one of the authors of the detailed Plan, stated at the sitting that the approval of this plan does not presuppose the fact that the lands will be used in the first place by economic entities who will buy the buildings. After they will take property of old buildings intended for demolition, the new owners will request the CMC to authorise constructions on these lands.
