Construction of apartment building in Chisinau stopped after residents of nearby block put up resistance

The construction of an apartment building on Al. Marinescu Street in Buiucani district of Chisinau was suspended owing to a conflict between the inhabitants of a neighboring block and the administration of the construction company, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Chisinau City Hall’s Public Relations Division. By order of the Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca, the works were halted in order to verify the validity of the urbanism certificate, including the construction authorization issued to the economic entity. The General Division of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations will reexamine the block building project. The applications lodged by the residents will be also examined. The Buiucani district head’s office in concert with the zonal Police Department and the Construction Authorization Division will make sure that the mayor’s order is carried out.
