Constitutional Court to pronounce on AEI's application within 10 days

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu submitted the document ascertaining the circumstances required to dissolve Parliament to the Constitutional Court. The document was signed Monday by all the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI). The head of the Court's apparatus Maia Banarescu has told Info-Prim Neo that the Acting President in the application asks the judges to rule on the conditions that justify the dissolution of the 18th legislative body. Maia Banarescu said that though the Constitutional Court has six months to take a decision, this time it will pronounce within 10 days, given the situation. If the Court rules the dissolution is justified, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu will issue a decree to dissolve the legislature and will then announce the day of early parliamentary elections.
