The Constitutional Court on Tuesday will examine the Central Election Commission's report on the results of the November 30 parliamentary election, IPN reports.
In the sitting that is scheduled for 10:00am, the Court is due to either confirm or invalidate the lawfulness of the election. At the same time, it will validate the mandates of the elected MPs and confirm the lists of alternate members.
If the election is declared lawful, the Central Election Commission shall formally authorize the elected MPs. The newly-elected parliament shall then assemble upon the convocation of the President of Moldova no later than 30 days from the election date.
Following the November 30 election, the Socialist Party got 20.51% of the votes and 25 seats in the parliament, the Liberal-Democrats 20.16% and 23 seats, the Communists 17.48% and 21 seats, the Democrats 15.80% and 19 seats, and the Liberals 9.67% and 13 seats.
