Wrestler Constantin Tutu became champion in the KOK Grand Prix Gala 2014 held in Chisinau after beating Ukraine’s Igor Leapin in the final by knockout.
In the 85 kg class, Tutu also defeated Radoslav Pacuski of Poland and Ali Alkaiz of Turkey. He wanted to meet Ibrahim El Bouni in order to take revenge on him for last year’s defeat, but the Moroccan lost to Igor Leapin in quarterfinals. “I’m very contented with this success. The cup must remain in Moldova,” Constantin Tutu has told IPN.
Moldova’s second representative in the 85kg class Denis Apavaloaie was beaten in the first round of the competition that brought together athletes from seven countries. Among the Moldovans who achieved good results are Stanislav Renita, Pavel Voronin, Maxim Bolotov, and Stefan Carlig.
The tournament’s invitees of honor – Romanian Catalin Morosanu and Ukrainian Pavel Juravliov – announced that they will also compete in the KOK Gala that will take place in Chisinau in September.
