A batch of over 5,000 books donated by Romanians will be distributed to seven Moldovan libraries that face a shortage of books in the Romanian language, it is said in a communiqué from the Bureau for Diaspora Relations, which was quoted by IPN.
The donations were made by people from Timisoara and through partnerships with libraries and foundations.
The books were collected within the project “Donate a book over the Prut” that was launched by the Association of Bessarabians Media Grup and the Organization of Bessarabians from Timisoara in September 2012.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Bureau for Diaspora Relations, the Chisinau club Rotaract and the Ministry of Education of Moldova.
