The Moldovan Conservative Party is disapproving of what it calls 'the political bargain' of nominating Marian Lupu to stand for president.
“We have analyzed, point by point, the offering that Marian Lupu made to the Party of Communists in order to earn their support, but there's nothing else to see there than political gibber and demagoguery”, Conservative leader Natalia Nirca has told a press conference at the agency Info-Prim Neo on Thursday.
According to the Conservatives, Marian Lupu's candidacy is very vulnerable, as Lupu doesn't resonate with the aspirations of the so-called liberal voters, disillusioning at the same time his own voters, who voted for the Democratic Party from totally different considerations.
Natalia Nirca says her party has reached the conclusion that the election of Marian Lupu to the post of president will impair the idea of change, in general, and of change of the political elites, in particular. “We see no reason for begging votes from the Communists. And, since the expected Communist support seems unlikely, it isn't a compromise either”.
The Conservative Party sees in the current actions of the Alliance for European Integration an emulation of the governing methods used by their predecessors. “One clan replaces another”, Mrs Nirca declared.
Asked whether the Conservatives are ready to take part in the potential early elections next year and if the time will be enough to earn more support than in the previous polls, Natalia Nirca has said her party will certainly participate and will win seats in Parliament this time.
