Conservative Party (CP) reiterates the necessity to form a single common list of candidates of the democratic anticommunist forces of Moldova, in the early parliament elections on July 29, Info-Prim Neo reports. CP made a similar appeal at the beginning of June. “If you really are anticommunist and democratic political forces and your goal is to really put an end to the government of the Communists Party, the participation in the elections on a single list is absolutely imperative”, Natalia Nirca, PC chairman, told the opposition parties. “We reiterate this appeal because there is only one week left until the deadline for submitting documents for participation in elections”, Nirca told a press conference on Tuesday. She believes that the choice of the parliamentary opposition parties to participate in the elections by themselves is a mistake. “The results of a survey conducted by us shows that after the elections we’ll have a unfavorable situation for the anticommunist democratic forces. The Communists could actually win those 80 seats they desire”, PC leader warned. Natalia Nirca pointed out that PC is ready to participate in a joint political project and contribute with human and financial resources to “a common national cause”. The Conservatives expressed their concern with the fact that the political parties running in the parliamentary race have very unequal opportunities. “The Communists Party exploits at maximum all the resources and control levers it holds, while the opposition is dull and sleepy. We are convinced that if the appeal for unification is made by one of the three parliamentary opposition parties, we still have time to form this joint list”, Natalia Nirca said. PC’s deputy chairman, Zinovia Zorina, stated at the same press conference that by participating separately in the elections the opposition parties divide the democratic electorate. The three parliamentary opposition parties – the Liberal Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and Moldova Noastra Alliance – declared their separate participation in the elections because of the short period of the electoral campaign. The deadline for submitting papers for registering electoral candidates with the Central Election Commission expires on July 7.
