The June 3 local elections were a first stage in the development of the Conservative Party, leader of the party Natalia Nirca told a news conference held at Info-Prim Neo. Nirca said that the Conservative Party (PC) obtained modest results in the polls, but this is normal for a young party that was set up less than a year ago and participated in its first elections. She also said that the party did not resort to the practice of recruiting well-known persons for ensuring the party’s success in elections because it wants to have an image of a party with a young, competent, honest team with a high potential. The Conservative Party claims it is a prosperous team that will be consequent and perseverant in its messages and ideas. For the PC, this campaign was difficult due to the large number of infringements, irregularities and pressure on the part of the authorities. Speaking about the compromised elections in Corjova village in Dubasari district, Nirca said that this case shows the helplessness of the Moldovan constitutional authorities. “Nothing was done to prevent this incident and to guarantee citizens’ participation in elections. The elections could be held in Cocieri village, which is near Corjova, but this was not done intentionally,” Nirca said.
