Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa risks being excluded from the National Football Division. The team intends to boycott the match against Nistru Otaci in protest at the overdue salaries of about US$40,000.
Manager Marin Livadaru said that the arrears will be settled in a month, but the players do not want to wait for so long.
Owing to the conflict with the bosses, the team trained by Veaceslav Rusnac refused to play the previous stage match against FC Costuleni. Thus, Iskra-Stal was penalized with a 3-0 technical defeat and a fine of 50,000 lei.
Under the championship’s regulations, Iskra-Stal will be excluded from the National Division and relegated to an inferior league if it does not play the match against Nistru Otaci. After 27 stages, Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa ranks seventh.
Meanwhile, Marin Livadaru launched a new initiative on the creation of the Professional Football League in Moldova, which was supported by five club managers.
