Conference for ICT specialists to be held in Moldova

An international conference on information and communication technology (ICT) will take place in Moldova for the first time. The event forms part of the “OPEN i” project and is intended for specialists in ICT project management and marketing. The conference organized by AIESEC Moldova and ASIST was scheduled for February 22-27, 2010. In a news conference at Info-Prim Neo on Wednesday, Ilie Dercaci, coordinator of the “OPEN i” project, said the project is supported by the National Association of Private ICT Companies and the Institute for Development of Information Society of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. “The project focuses on two areas – ICT project management and ICT marketing,” Ilie Dercaci said. According to him, the seminars that will be held as part of the “OPEN i” conference will help the Moldovan companies solve many of the problems they face. “We examined the sector and ascertained that the companies encounter problems. We agreed with the National Association of Private ICT Companies that such a project like “OPEN i” will help identify many of the problems and solutions to them,” Dercaci said. Marina Pascari, who is responsible for the human resources within the project, said the project is open to ICT students and graduates that already work. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2010. “The candidates must know English and have ICT abilities,” Marina Pascari said. Iulian Gulea, agenda manager of the project, said the six-day conference includes training seminars that will be given by specialists from the country and abroad and visits to companies. According to the organizers, 100 persons from Moldovan and 50 from abroad will take part in the project. The Moldovans will pay a participation fee of 30 euros, while the foreigners – of 60 euros.
