Compensations to farmers will be paid in July

The Government approved the regulations concerning the payment of compensations for mechanized operations in the 2010 agricultural season. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc said the 30 million lei allocated for paying compensations following the rise in excise duties on diesel fuel from January 1, 2010 (by 400 lei a tonne) will be distributed to the farmers who own more than 10 hectares of land, Info-Prim Neo reports. The compensation will be 40 lei per hectare, but not more than 100,000 lei per beneficiary. The money will be paid in July, after the district commissions submit the list of recipients to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which will issue the orders. The compensations for the farmers who own up to 10 hectares of land will be transferred to the mayors' offices. The compensations of 40 lei per hectare are paid from the state budget in addition to the 300 million lei allocated from the agriculture subsidization fund.
