An investigation was opened into the illegal activity of the company that set up carousels in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau following an incident when two teens fell from one of the carousels and were hospitalized in the evening of February 5, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the investigation will center on the unauthorized activity of the company, the injuring of the two girls and the legality of the actions of decision makers that allowed installing the carousels without the required authorizations, endangering thus the life and health of the population.
In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca asked to file a complaint against the company that set up the carousels in central Chisinau to the Prosecutor’s Office or the Ministry of the Interior and to assess the damage caused to the victims as a result of the incident.
Dorin Chirtoaca said the economic entity on January 25 was requested to remove all the carousels from the central square of Chisinau within three days because the security rules weren’t respected. But this request was ignored and the company in the period worked illegally. All the responsible institutions were informed about the abrogation of the decision by which the installation of the platforms in central Chisinau was authorized.
The Health Division’s deputy head Constantin Ramis said the two teens who fell from the carousel received the necessary medical care and their condition is now stable.
