The companies performing export operations are obliged to respect the requirements of the countries to which they sell, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said, commenting on the announcement that the Moldovan apples and potatoes contain toxic substances, made by Russia’s Phytosanitary Service.
Vlad Filat instructed Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov to identify the agricultural producers that break the export rules and strike them off the list of companies allowed to sell abroad.
According to the Premier, the move is aimed at preventing conflicts with the countries to which the goods are exported. Vlad Filat also said the Moldovan services that inspect the quality and safety of the exported products should do their job better.
