The new awardees joined the about 1,000 winners of the previous contests. “Trademark of the Year” aims to promote the corporate image of companies and to highlight the role of brand names in identifying products and services. As many as 73 applications have been submitted this year and the presented trademarks competed for awards in 11 categories. The 15 companies that won gold at the previous five contests were nominated for “Established Trademark”.

“These trademarks are well-known and appreciated by the consumers from all over the country, such as Franzeluta, Tricon, Ionel, Bere Chisinau, Gas Natural Fenosa, Cricova, Viorica Cosmetic, and Orange. To allow the younger companies to promote their brand names, we instituted the category “Debut”. Among the awarded trademarks were Velmart, Molda, Infodebit, and Tehlab Service,” said the head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry Valeriu Lazar, who heads the organizational committee of “Made in Moldova”.

Besides medals, the participants were offered a 50% reduction in the exhibit participation tax and discounts of up to 20% on a number of services provided by the Chamber of Trade and Industry. They will also be able to promote their trademarks through the publications of AGEPI and to benefit from a number of services.
