The Bloc of Communists and Socialists says it will support the organization “Victoria” in holding the “Immortal Regiment” march on March 9, providing organizational and legal support.
Vlad Batrîncea, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and executive secretary of the Socialist Party, stated during a press briefing that no incidents were recorded in previous years with the march, and assured that this year’s edition will take place “in strict accordance with the law” and “in close coordination” with the law enforcement agencies.
Constantin Starîș, member of Parliament and executive secretary of the Communist Party, stressed that the “Immortal Regiment” is not a military march, but a peaceful event. According to the lawmaker, on May 9 “we celebrate the victory over the greatest evil in human history”.
The Communists&Socialists parliamentary group intends to formally notify the Chisinau municipality of the plans to hold the march, which will kick off at 9:30AM from the Great National Assembly Square and will head to the Eternity Memorial.
