The Communist faction will take part in the administration of Parliament, the leader of the Party of Communists Vladimir Voronin said after a meeting of the PCRM held before the January 21 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
“The PCRM does not hold talks to ask for posts and benefits. We discuss how to unblock the work of Parliament and how to improve the quality of the administrative bodies of the country, not who and what posts should hold,” stated Vladimir Voronin.
Asked if the Communists want posts in the Cabinet, Vladimir Voronin said this is a very important matter that will be discussed after the executive bodies of Parliament are formed and after Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti fields a candidate for the post of Premier. Voronin expressed his anger when the journalists asked him to specify if this means that the PCRM will also hold important posts. “I didn’t say this. The issue will be discussed after the candidate for premiership is put forward, in accordance with the law,” he stated.
The Communist leader also said that the opposition is usually offered a post of Deputy Speaker. “We did so when we were in power,” he said. Asked how many commissions the Communist faction should manage, Voronin answered that two of the 9-10 that will be constituted.
Asked if the PCRM will form a coalition with the pro-European parties, the Communist leader said they will never use the terms coalition, alliance or bloc.
