With all the ballots in Chisinau municipality processed, the results show that the ruling party polled 26.24% of the vote and will be represented in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) by 16 councillors, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the member of the Chisinau District Election Council, Nicoale Raileanu, the communists’ candidate for General Mayor Veaceslav Iordan received 59,142 votes, or 27.66% of the total, while his nearest rival, Dorin Chirtoaca of the Liberal Party (PL), collected 52,138 votes, or 24.38%. 9.78 percent of Chisinau electors voted for the candidate of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party Leonid Bujor, the candidate of the Democrat Party of Moldova (PDM) Vladimir Filat garnered 8.33%, followed by the candidate of the Social Democracy Party (PDS) Dumitru Braghis, with 7.96%, the candidate of PPCD Alexandru Corduneanu, with 5.76%. The candidate on behalf of the Social-Democrat Party (PSD), Eduard Musuc, got 3%, the candidate of BE Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie (BE PRR), Valentuin Krilov, polled 2.7%, Ion Mereuta of the Humanist Party (PUM) – 2.88%, Vitalia Pavlicenco of the National Liberal Party (PNL) – 2.19%, Svetlana Maslitchi of the Republican People’s Party (PPR) – 1.25%, Petru Bodarev – 1.25%. The candidate of the Social-Liberal Party (PSL), Corneliu Ciurea collected 0,76%, Ludmila Bolboceanu – 0.52%, Ion Bujenita of the Green Alliance Party (PE AV) – 0.41%, Mihai Petrache of the Centrist Union (UC) – 0.38%, and Valentina Tapis of the Party of Law and Justice - 0,29%. PCRM received 26.24% of the votes cast for municipal councillors, PL – 18.31%, AMN – 12.26%, PDM – 6.83%, PPCD – 6.92%, PDS – 5.25%, PUM – 3.51%, PSD – 3.38%, BE PRR – 3.29%, PNL – 2.91%, PSL – 1.51%, PPR – 1%, the European Party – 0.99%, the Conservative Party – 0.74%, the Party of Law and Justice – 0.75%, PE AV – 0.73%, the Centrist Union – 0.4%, the Labour Union Patria-Rodina – 0.33%, and the results of the independent candidates range from 0.1% to 0.,75%. The Chisinau District Election Council CECMC has already determined the number of council seats for each party: the communists have 16 seats in CMC, PL – 11, AMN – 7, PD and PPCD – 4 each, PDS – 3, PUM and PSD – 2, PNL and BE PRR – 1 each. These results, says Nicolae Raileanu, could change if the hand recount requested by a number of parties proves to show some errors in initial tabulation. Currently, the ballots from 15 polling stations, where the observers registered irregularities, are being recounted in the City Hall. The hand recount could take several days.
