A number of lawmakers and young members of the Communist Party staged a number of protests in the center of Chisinau, including at the Presidential Residence, the State Residence, and the Constitutional Court. Communist MP Grigore Petrenco said that by these protests they demand calling early elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. Grigore Petrenco stated that the Moldovan people are tired of poverty, lies, and wrongdoings. The early elections would save Moldova from mafia, corruption, and smuggling. The young Communists who picketed the Constitutional Court asked that the Court take into account the recommendation of the Venice Commission, which said that the adoption of the Law on the Condemnation of the Communist Symbols was unconstitutional. One of the protesters said that the early legislative elections would give hope to the young people that the new government would provide workplaces, decent pensions and salaries and good living conditions. The members of the PCRM said they will stage more protests in front of these institutions until a decision about the organization of early elections is taken. The Communists’ protests coincided with the official visit of the Polish Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz. Grigore Petrenco said it was a sheer coincidence.
