The Communist faction asked convening a new extraordinary session of Parliament after the sitting held two days ago was boycotted by the MPs of the government coalition, IPN reports.
In their application, the Communists say a two-day extraordinary session must be convened. On the first day, there should be held parliamentary hearings on the situation in the mass media sector, especially the attack on the freedom of expression. Another item in the agenda is the examination of the bill with amendments to the Broadcasting Code.
The second day the session would include parliamentary hearings centering on the situation concerning local financial autonomy following the adoption of the law by which the local taxes are capped. There would be also debated the proposed amendments to the Tax Code.
The January 20 extraordinary session of Parliament, convened at the request of the Communist faction, didn’t have a quorum.
