The Communist Party (PCRM) demands that the Alliance for European Integration should set the date of early legislative elections for April or May. The request was made in a protest staged by the party in the Great National Assembly Square on February 4, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said they will join forces with the Committee for Defending the Constitution and Democracy and will demand that the current government resign.
“It will be soon three years of political crisis as they cannot elect the head of state, while the living standards did not improve. We will prepare and support the young people and the elderly people. We must invest in education and healthcare. We will win only together as Moldova needs a victory,” stated Vladimir Voronin.
Communist lawmaker Zinaida Chistruga called on all the female MPs from the ruling alliance to leave their leaders and form a new political movement. “I, as a woman, mother and wife, ask the nine female lawmakers of the AEI to understand that they were involved in a dangerous game. Be decent and leave the usurpers,” she stated.
According to the Communist leaders, the committee for organizing the second Civic Congress initiated by the PCRM will meet on February 6.
The organizers said the protest involved about 2,000 persons. The protesters chanted: “Down with the Alliance!”, “CEC, Resignation!”. They marched to the State Residence situated on Sfatul Tarii St and then returned to the Great National Assembly Square.
