A special sitting of Parliament will not be called, as the Communist faction requested. Such a decision was taken by the Standing Bureau on September 11. The Communists asked summoning a special sitting where to hold public hearings on the concession of the Chisinau International Airport and diminution of the state-owned holding in Banca de Economii, IPN reports.

Speaker Igor Corman told the journalists that after the Constitutional Court halted the procedure for conceding the airport, the Communists MPs agreed not to hold hearings on the issue until the court provides explanations for its decision.

“The Communist faction reiterated that they should discuss the situation at Banca de Economii. Our colleagues said that a commission of inquiry led by a Communist representative was earlier set up. It presented a report that contained the solution chosen by the Government afterward,” stated Igor Corman.

The discussions in the Standing Bureau’s meeting were heated in parts. The Speaker said some of his colleague forget where they are and make approaches that look like protests. The first sitting of the Parliament’s autumn-winter session will be held on September 26.
