The members of the Communist parliamentary group left the assembly hall of Parliament on December 6 in protest at the fact that their bill on the creation of a working group for drafting the Parliament’s Statement on the condemnation of the decision of the Constitutional Court for coup attempt and undermining of Moldova’s statehood wasn’t included in the agenda, IPN reports.
The Communists put forward the bill after the Constitutional Court on December 5 ruled that the Declaration of Independence, which says that Romanian is the official language of Moldova, is constitutional and prevails over the Constitution, namely Article 13, which stipulates that the official language is Moldovan, based on the Latin script.
The Socialists also announced that they will leave the hall, but remained to vote a bill on the import of trolleybuses for Balti municipality.
The Communist faction also left the December 5 sitting of Parliament after none of the bills proposed by them was included in the agenda and because the Parliament’s Regulations concerning the examination of censure motions, as they said, were violated.
