The scenario of the early parliamentary elections was planned by the Communists before the April 5 elections, Boris Asarov, president of the Transnistrian association “Pro-Europa”, said Tuesday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The aim of the early elections, even if the Communist Party does not admit it, is to obtain the constitutional majority, Asarov considers. He accused the ruling party of usurping the power in the state and of rigging the elections by methods that could not be spotted by the international organizations on April 5. “The peaceful protests that followed the elections turned into violence only after groups of provokers started to incite the crowd. Most of those provokers were prisoners controlled by the Ministry of Justice,” Asarov said. The president of “Pro-Europa” also said that the scenario of the violent protests was discussed by the outgoing President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin, Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev and the Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov at their last meeting held in Moscow in March. “Then, Voronin sought support from Medvedev and asked Smirnov to ban access for the foreign journalists that wanted to enter Moldova through the Transnistrian customs. “All the arguments lead to the conclusion that the Moldova authorities intend to form a bicameral Parliament, federalize the state and introduce Transnistria in their political system,” Boris Asarov said. The leader of the NGO considers that the European Parliament’s Resolution is a danger to the ruling party. “If the European Union and the Council of Europe get involved to organize free and fair early elections, the Communists have no chance,” he said. Asarov called on the Opposition not to take part in the election of the head of state on June 3. He thinks the EU Special Representative to Moldova Kalman Mizsei should be dismissed as he discredited himself through his statements and behavior.
