Communists disapprove bill related to road expansion

The Communist members of the Parliament's Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance did not give their approval to a bill declaring the rehabilitation and expansion of three national roads a matter of national public interest, Info-Prim Neo reports. Communist MP Oleg Reidman argued in particular that the bill involves expropriations in several areas, and three district heads and 9 mayors do not agree with this initiative. Oleg Reidman further stated that the bill doesn’t immediately foresee what the targeted expropriation areas are. Moreover, the decisions of “Cadastru” SOE are missing from the draft law, which, according to the MP, is inadmissible. Another reason set forth by the Communist MPs is that the bill, proposed by the Economy Ministry, does not contain an explanation on the funds to be used when covering the costs for the land purchased or expropriated. The bill received positive vote from the rest of the Economic Commission, and therefore will be forwarded to Parliament for approval in a first reading; meanwhile, the Economy Ministry was instructed to add the Communist MPs’ demands related to the bill before hearing it in the second reading. According to the project, the following maintenance and extension works are to be declared a matter of public utility and national interest: M2 Chisinau – Soroca – Ukrainian border, M3 Chisinau – Cimislia – Vulcanesti – Giurgiulesti – Romanian border, and R1 Chisinau – Ungheni – Sculeni – Romanian border, in accordance with the feasibility tests. Subject to expropriation are fields and buildings located along the roads of settlements like Gura Camencii, Soroca, Cimislia, Comrat, Vulcanesti, Giurgiulesti, Chisinau, Vatra etc.
