The Communists Party (PCRM) says the legislative body should be dissolved immediately now that the head of state cannot be elected, Info-Prim Neo reports. Communist MP Vadim Misin told a news conference on Wednesday that under the Constitution, the acting President must dissolve the Parliament and announce early elections if the head of state is not elected in the second round of voting either. “In legal terms, this means that the acting President must do this immediately,” Misin said. He stressed the provision that the Parliament cannot be dissolved two times during a year refers only to cases when the legislature cannot confirm the government or cannot adopt laws within three months. According to him, the PCRM could agree to hold several sittings of the Parliament only to adopt the state budget for 2010. Vadim Misin criticized the Parliament's administration, especially Speaker Mihai Ghimpu, for violating the legislation and for attempting to modify the Constitution by referendum. To his mind, such an attempt will be unsuccessful.
