The Communists Party has set up a group to participate in negotiations with other parliamentary parties in a bid to identify a candidate for President, the party said in a press release. The decision to create the negotiation group was adopted at the Thursday's meeting of the party's Political Executive. The group includes the MPs Iurie Muntean, Maria Postoico and Anatolie Zagorodnyi. Communist Party Secretary Iurie Muntean announced Speaker Marian Lupu of this decision. Muntean dismissed reports that the Communist Party was intending to negotiate only with the Democratic Party. He stressed that the Communist Party has demonstrated its willingness to engage in negotiations with all the parties in the current Parliament without discrimination. However, Muntean made it clear that the Communist Party was ready to discuss with each party separately and would not engage in negotiations with “the so-called Alliance”.
