The Central Election Commission (CEC) struck the Communist Reformist Party off the list of parties that can take part in the June 14 local general elections. Such a decision was taken following a letter from the Ministry of Justice, by which the CEC is informed about the annulment of the registration of this party, IPN reports.

CEC member Stefan Uratu proposed removing the bill from the agenda because the Ministry of Justice cannot modify the list of parties during the election campaign. His proposal was yet rejected.

According to the members of the Commission, no candidate on behalf of the Communist Reformist Party has been yet registered. The documents submitted by the representatives of this party will be sent back to them by the district electoral bodies.

CEDC secretary Andrei Volentir reminded that the Buiucani Court on April 24 annulled the Ministry of Justice’s decision to register the statutes and symbols of the Communist Reformist Party of Moldova. The Ministry complied with this decision and updated the list of parties allowed to take part in the campaign. For its part, the CEC obeyed the Ministry of Justice’s ordinance and also updated the list.
